Neil Pierce is one of the UK’s leading pioneers for house music. As well as a UK and Global Soulful house DJ, with his sets taking crowds on a journey of classics, dubs, to gospel and exclusive rare groove sets - Pierce is a respected Producer, Remixer, Label Manager and is behind the now infamous ‘Deep Into Soul’ as Promoter and Resident DJ.
Neil Pierce’s skills on the decks and seamless mixing has seen him headlining across the world - from Miami, Italy, Ibiza, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Sweden, Dubai to Australia, Russia, Norway ,Ukraine , Spain, Thailand and in New York, as one of only a handful of Brits to grace the decks at the legendary Shelter club. Neil’s past DJ credentials include playing at respected promotions such as Soul Heaven, Garage City, Southport Weekender, Suncebeat, Miami Winter Music Conference, Need2Soul, Soulogic and many more.
Musical Journey
Beginning his musical journey as Manager of Release the Groove record shop in London’s Soho, Pierce’s tenacity and knowledge of music rapidly led began to friendships with many whom he would eventually play alongside and it wasn’t long before Pierce was DJing at legendary nights such as Garage City and Paul Trouble Anderson’s Loft parties in Camden.
In 2001, a new night was launched at the infamous Ministry of Sound super-club in London; Soul Heaven soon became a club night synonymous with playing quality deep and soulful house music and shortly after launching, Pierce was invited to become a resident DJ, playing alongside many of his heroes including MAW, Tony Humphries, Todd Terry and many more. The Soul Heaven adventure continued for over a decade with Neil Pierce regularly representing the brand across the world.
In 2003, Neil partnered up with fellow Soul Heaven resident Aaron Ross as producers under the name Fanatix. Subsequent work saw collaborations with Blaze, Kimara Lovelace, KOT, Kenny Bobien, Roy Ayers and Stephanie Cooke, as well as homegrown talents, Terri Walker, Kele le Roc, Jamiroquai, Alex Mills, Don-E and Sunburst Band - all bringing recognition and visiblity for a superb production talent and with releases on respected major house labels including Sony, Defected, BBE, Ricanstruction, ZR, Def Jam, Soulgroove and of course Soul Heaven Records.
In March 2008, Fanatix released their debut album, There It Is on London based label BBE to great critical acclaim across the wider musical community, as well as hitting the No. 1 spot on Traxsource; The album was also licensed to Toys Factory in Japan.
In 2005 Pierce set up Hustle Music - most famously responsible for signing The Way You Love Me by Ron Hall & The Muthafunkas featuring Marc Evans, now a legendary house classic. In 2009 Pierce replaced Aaron Ross as Label Manager at Soul Heaven Records. As well as finding new talent and music, the role gave an opportunity for Niel to put his own music out and in 2010, his debut solo record Relish Your Soul performed by Kadija Kamara was released on Soul Heaven Records. This cutting-edge soulful house track received huge support from DJs worldwide and set the tone for almost a decade of globally acclaimed solo projects.
Get Out of my Head with the wonderful vocals of Dawn Tallman was released in January 2011 on MN2S, reaching No.2 in the Traxsource chart and featured mixes by DJ Spen (Muthafunkas) This was followed with the smash “Time is Now “.
In May 2013 Neil Co-founded Rhemi Music with and Ziggy and the first release, a remix of a the classic “call on me “ by Fanatix, reaching number 2 on the Traxsource singles chart with countless Number 1 hits followed, including the club anthems “Diamond”, ‘Mask Off” ‘Back to the one” and ‘Shake Your Body Down”. Rhemi has remixed for Joey Negro, Dj Spen, Louie Vega and Sandy Rivera to name but a few. Rhemi released their first compilation on Dj Spen’s Quantize Recordings and at the end of 2017 Rhemi were placed 3th in the world for Soulful House producers on Traxsource.com.
2020 is set to be a massive year for Neil Pierce’s production work which kicked off with an album with Han Lei and a brand new compilation album on Joey Negro’s Z records.
